So long, farewell, auf weidersein goodbye...

It's been almost a month since I left my home in Orlando and drove 17 hours back to Illinois, yet with all the transition that's taken place it seems like it's been longer than that! My friends put together a fantastic and fun send-off for me which included a feast of fried American cuisine at Cracker Barrel and an Asian celebration with some karaoke at CityWalk's Rising Star (I think Rebekah and I fit the bill! Although the office party that was apparently there was another story.) In addition to our "cultural" farewell, we also lived the Italian life at the Portofino resort at Universal as we enjoyed the theme parks and Florida sun...oh, I will miss days at the pool!

My Epass got a workout my last week in Orlando as I traveled across town and back many times finishing some errands and seeing friends before I left. As I was driving on Colonial one day, I found myself going through a slide show of sorts in my head. Having lunch and coffee dates with various friends who I've known during my seven years in Orlando prompted a flow of conversations, memories and lessons learned along the way. The old saying "you don't know what you've got until it's gone" is true. In my last week in Orlando I realized how much it had become my home, even though I'd fought that my first few years of living there. :) So, for those of you in Orlando reading this...THANK YOU for your love, friendship and fun times together!

What I miss in Florida: my friends, Tuesday nights with the girls, PUBLIX!, Jimmy and the crew at Fusion, my friends, the Prime Outlets (especially now that they added even MORE stores!), seeing the sun setting over Turkey Lake every evening, wearing open toed shoes pretty much all year, my friends, Sundays, Track Shack run club, the library, and my friends.
