Q & A

Without a doubt, the top three questions I get when someone finds out I'm moving to China are:

1. Are you excited?

2. Do you speak Chinese?

3. Will you go to the Olympics?

#1--At times I find myself unsure of how to answer question one. Of course I am excited, but I find that I've been a slave to a to-do list for the last month. The amount of things that need to be tended to have in a way overshadowed the excitement that I have.

#2--Unless you count being able to say a few food items and some polite sayings such as "You are my friend" and "How are you?", I cannot speak Chinese. I do find myself sometimes thinking in Spanish, which I think would make Senorita Johnson, my high school Spanish teacher, happy.

#3--Even though I will be arriving a few days before the actual games begin, I thought the answer would be no; however, I recently found out that a co-worker did purchase a ticket for me. So, my new answer is YES! I will be attending a women's Olympic soccer match.
