One evening, I went out and walked along the beach for some time. The next morning I awoke in the early hours to see the sunrise over the East China Sea. I marveled at how the waters recede in the evening, and once again come back to their full capacity in the morning. The round orb of the sun was invisible for hours, yet an orangey hue blazed across the sky almost like an underline, and then around 6:15, the edges of the sun began to peak through the horizon. I was reminded of a reading of Jeremiah 5:22, which talks about the sand being a impenetrable boundary for the waves. A powerful statement of which I needed to be reminded.
In actuality, my time at the beach prompted many recollections of things past. One night while I was seated on the sand, large floodlights rained down light behind me casting five shadows next to me. In that moment of questioning things happening in my life, I was reminded of key, influential people from my life in Orlando. What a sweet time of remembrance that was as I thought about the impact they had on my life there, and as a result my life here as well.
