Band Names

Vocabulary books often expose me to words that, in my mind, would make awesome band names. When I taught in Orlando several years ago, my B block 11th graders heard me say I would name my band “Pillage the Village” when our Sadlier-Oxford book yielded the word “pillage”. Really, can you not hear the loud, raucous applause for “Pillage the Village”? This year, the new word is “interregnum”, which means:
--an interval of time between the close of a sovereign's reign and the accession of his or her normal or legitimate successor.
--any period during which a state has no ruler or only a temporary executive.
--any period of freedom from the usual authority.
--any pause or interruption in continuity.
I think “The Interregnum” has overtaken the lead in the running. And by the way, I am in no musical way capable of forming an actual band. I can’t even manage one round of Guitar Hero.
