This essentially summarizes my experience at the North Face 10K, which was part of the North Face Endurance Challenge weekend in Chanping. Our solid group descended on the race course at 8:00 a.m. to find a beautiful expanse of nature and what felt like ridiculous gale-force winds. What we had hoped would be an enjoyable 10k through gorgeous hills turned in to a torturous series of hills and power punches of wind. At one point, I was running on a flat stretch of road thinking things were on an upswing when I was literally punched by the wind. I felt as if I was running in place. A villager was walking with her bike and almost found herself blown off the road. Seriously. Here are a few pictures from our adventure. Despite the semi-intense running conditions, the scenery truly was gorgeous. Hills, greenery, flowers, blue skies and white fluffy clouds.
