Perhaps the better title would be “Dancing Fool”. In my excitement for this year’s China Day school celebration, I eagerly sought out a performance group. Last year, I made my debut in a Mongolian dance troupe, and this year could possibly top last year’s routine. Imagine a line dance-esque routine involving bamboo sticks. Sound weird? It is, but mostly because this “weigouren” is attempting a traditional dance.
At 15, I had the urge to tap into my latent ballet talents. Well, much to my chagrin, there were no latent talents to tap into, and I was never involved in a dance recital at Jane Mannion’s School of Dance; however, my teaching job has provided me with a chance to claim the dancing fame I once desired. It will no doubt be a hysterical process.
