All Aboard

I am a dork who loves mass transit, specifically trains and the subway. Thursday I headed in to Beijing to meet two friends, and my heart swelled at the idea of taking the bullet train and the subway into the city. Perhaps I am over-romanticizing things, but the mix of people all headed somewhere at one time mystifies me. Here we all are tucked into a brief shared moment together, ready to zip from one end of the city to another, only to separate and go off to the responsibilities that await us, meanwhile the city keeps moving and working above us with millions more going about their day.
