Wo ting bu dong

Rarely do I ever hear someone say this to me. Usually, it's the other way around. Last night I had one of those "you know your Chinese is bad when" moments. In the meat section of the grocery store, I asked the butcher where the "ji rou" was. He proceeded to shake his head and then point upstairs. Clearly I knew this was incorrect. I asked for "ji rou" again. No luck. I proceeded to flap my arms like "wings", perhaps I should have just done a full all-out version of the chicken dance. Finally, he got the point and showed me some whole chickens. As he showed them to me, I saw the chicken breasts, which was what I was looking for. I then heard him say to his coworker something about "yi fu" and then he laughed. Apparently he thought I was looking for "yi fu". Not quite.

Ji rou=chicken
Yi fu=clothing

They sound nothing alike.
